Module 7: Building a Content Strategy on LinkedIn

Learning Objectives
  • Identify 2-3 content pillars aligned with your professional narrative
  • Distinguish between posts that educate, share experience, and start discussion
  • Build a realistic, sustainable posting cadence

Consistent, relevant posting is what keeps a personal brand visible between job searches -- a profile that only gets attention right when you need a job looks, and often is, less credible than one with an ongoing presence. Effective content generally falls into a few repeatable pillars tied to your narrative: educational posts (sharing a lesson or how-to from your field), experience posts (a specific project, win, or failure and what you learned), and discussion posts (an opinion or question that invites others to engage). Sustainability matters more than frequency -- one genuinely useful post every one to two weeks, consistently, builds more credibility over a year than a burst of ten posts followed by months of silence, and LinkedIn's algorithm rewards posts that generate early comments more than posts that generate only passive views.
