Module 10: Product Launches & Go-to-Market

Learning Objectives
  • Build a go-to-market plan aligned with a launch's goals
  • Coordinate a launch across marketing, sales, and support
  • Choose an appropriate launch strategy for the product's stage

A go-to-market (GTM) plan defines who the launch is for, what problem it solves for them, how it will be positioned and messaged, and which channels will reach them, whether that's a broad public announcement, a limited beta with a small group of early users, or a quiet rollout to existing customers first. The right strategy depends on the product's stage and risk: an early-stage team validating a risky new idea often prefers a small, controlled beta to gather feedback before a wider release, while a mature, well-tested feature might warrant a full public push. You will learn to coordinate a launch across functions: giving sales and support the talking points and documentation they need before customers start asking questions, and aligning marketing's messaging with what the product truly delivers, to avoid the common and costly mismatch between hype and reality.
